grab the low-hanging fruit

Some life goals are huge dreams, difficult to realize: putting on a concert, traveling to Europe, buying an investment property, starting a family, learning to speak Russian, just to name a few examples. These are all worth pursing, without a doubt.

But there are other goals, easier to accomplish, much more within my immediate reach, which are also worthwhile: taking my wife to Starbucks, signing my kids up for sports, watching a Flyers hockey game, kissing my baby girl, grabbing a nap! This is the low-hanging fruit that makes life enjoyable. So while there are bigger goals and dreams up there on the higher branches, I don't want to overlook the blessings within my more immediate grasp.

Here's another one: Starting a blog. You would not believe how easy this is!
